La Lueur de l’Aube is a jewelry brand based in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, offering handcrafted pieces inspired by nature and our founder’s childhood memories in Japan.
Our boutique-atelier, nestled just steps from Le Bon Marché, is where each creation comes to life , carefully handcrafted with precision and sensitivity.

At the Heart of Makiko Akiyama’s Inspiration

Makiko Akiyama, founder of La Lueur de l’Aube, draws her inspiration from the natural landscapes of her childhood in Japan.

Surrounded by mountains, the sea, and her mother’s floral art, she developed early on a deep sensitivity to organic forms and the quiet poetry of the living world.

A graduate of Musashino Art University in Tokyo, she first explored accessory-making through the art of stained glass, her first encounter with light and transparency, which would go on to shape her creative vision.

She moved to Paris in 2003, where she completed a full jewelry training and worked in workshops collaborating with renowned maisons such as Cartier.

And in 2008, her vision came to life with the opening of her own boutique in Paris.

Her creations, imbued with a delicacy rooted in her Japanese heritage, come to life through a slow, attentive and precise gesture.

They evoke a peaceful kind of nature, sometimes wild, often discreet. Through intentional asymmetries, raw textures and softened forms, her world recalls both seasonal flowers and time-worn minerals.

Each piece embodies a silent dialogue between two cultures , the intuitive beauty of Japan and the refined craftsmanship of France.

At La Lueur de l’Aube, jewelry becomes a fragment of landscape, an intimate glimmer one wears as one carries a memory.

A Japanese Aesthetic, a French Touch

La Lueur de l’Aube’s jewelry does not follow a strictly Japanese aesthetic. Yet in every curve, every irregular texture and softened surface, the influence of the founder’s cultural heritage is quietly present.
Each design is inspired by natural elements such as flowers, crystals and leaves, embracing purity of form, the slow rhythm of the hand, and a deep respect for the material.

Entirely handcrafted in our Paris atelier, these pieces carry the legacy of two worlds, the silent poetry of Japan and the precision of French craftsmanship.
