What are the DISTINCTIVE signs of Japanese jewelry?
Japanese jewelry is distinguished by its finesse and elegance, often inspired by nature. Common motifs include peonies, hydrangeas and animal representations, symbolizing beauty, grace and vitality. The materials used, such as gold, silver, pearls and semi-precious stones, add a touch of refinement. Textures on metal, such as delicate engravings and hammered finishes, are characteristic of Japanese jewelry. Who is the designer behind "la lueur de l'aube"?
Makiko Akiyama, a talented jeweler, learned almost everything in Japan before moving to Paris in 2003 after graduating from Musashino Art University. Her Parisian influence stems from her many years living in the capital. In 2008, she launched her brand, La Lueur de l'Aube, and opened her workshop-boutique eight years later at 77 rue du Cherche-Midi, in Paris's 6th arrondissement.
Passionate about working with metals and their environment, she finds her artistic identity through texturing and the play of light on matter. Her collections range from sparkling to luminous, reflecting her sensibility and a hint of poetry. Like a walk in the wilderness, La Lueur de l'Aube draws inspiration from nature's bounty to embellish every wearer.
