Gold, that precious metal, has fascinated for millennia with its brilliance and richness. Its various hues, from brilliant yellow to subtle pink, add a dimension of luxury and elegance to any piece of jewelry. But why does gold come in so many colors? Let's find out.
how can 18k gold have different hues?
18-carat gold is made up of 75% pure gold, the remaining 25% being other metals added to solidify it. It is these additional metals that give gold its different hues. There are three main shades: yellow gold (the most common), rose gold and white gold, each with its own specific nuances.
As for 24-carat gold (or pure gold), its color is bright yellow, sometimes almost orange.
